How to take measurements for a DOYIN LONDON Dress

While we always recommend getting professionally measured, here's everything you need to know to get the job done at home!

What you need:

  • A flexible measuring tape (not a fabric or paper one)
  • A long mirror
  • Pen and Paper
  • Someone to help (if possible)
  • Measure everything 2-3 times to be certain (we do not take responsibility for incorrect measurements)

How to Measure Your Bust:

Wearing the undergarments that you will wear with the dress and a thin layer of clothing, stand upright in a relaxed position and wrap the measuring tape around your back and under your arms at the fullest part of your bust.

How to Measure Your Waist:

Stand up straight and wrap the measuring tape around the narrowest part of your natural waist - this is usually around the location of your Belly button. Bend to one side to find natural indentation in torso. This is your natural waist.

(Don't suck in your tummy so you don’t end up with a tight-fitting garment!)

How to Measure Your Hips:

Stand with your feet together, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips.

How to Measure Your Dress Length:

Wearing the shoes or similar shoes in the same height as the shoes that you will wear with the dress, stand upright in a relaxed position with your feet together. Place the measuring tape at your hollow while someone pulls it straight down to the floor or the length you want your dress. (Note: this option is only available with DOYIN BESPOKE).
